Introduction

​Willow Flute Quartet are dedicated to creating bespoke musical entertainment for weddings and events. With a diverse repertoire spanning from classical music to pop tunes, we are well-equipped to cater to a range of musical preferences. We specialise in pop covers uniquely played with four flutes which is perfect for adding a touch of elegance to a drinks reception or wedding ceremony.

Lauren Stafford
Founder

Lauren began playing the flute at 7 years old and went on to study at the University of Huddersfield, where she obtained a First-Class Honours Degree in music performance. She then went on to do a master’s course at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she studied flute under Roger Armstrong.  During her studies, Lauren thoroughly enjoyed exploring the diverse and extensive repertoire of the flute and piccolo as well as studying the saxophone and clarinet.

Since graduating, Lauren plays in various groups and as a soloist for weddings and events and is a regular on the musical theatre scene playing in pit bands. Alongside performing, Lauren is an established woodwind teacher. Having taught in schools for many years, she now runs her own teaching business. She is also the musical director for Airedale Flute Choir. 
Outside of music, Lauren enjoys walks in the countryside, gardening and going to gigs.

Elizabeth Palmer
 

Elizabeth studied flute with Jennifer George at the University of Leeds. During her studies, spent a year studying flute, piccolo and baroque flute at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León in Spain, under José Miguel Trujillo. She most recently studied with Andrew Littlewood. As a soloist Elizabeth has performed in the UK and abroad. A particular highlight of her career is performing Nielsen’s Concerto for Flute and Orchestra in both Leeds and Amsterdam. As an orchestral performer she has performed across Europe, including at the Royal Albert Hall. Recent orchestral credits include performing with Leeds Symphony Orchestra, Leeds Haydn Players, and Yorkshire Wind Orchestra, as well as in pit bands for Northern Opera Group, Leeds Youth Opera, Leeds Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and Yeadon Theatre Company. Elizabeth is also a keen choral singer and currently sings with Leeds Festival Chorus, conducted by Simon Wright.

 

Outside of music, Elizabeth works as a project manager and enjoys knitting, walks in the countryside and discovering new restaurants with her husband.

Abbie LIngard
 

Abbie studied music at the University of Birmingham, majoring in performance. She has been performing since she was a child and has specifically been playing at weddings and events for over five years. Abbie has experience playing a range of musical styles , from classical to jazz and pop. She especially enjoys playing relaxed popular music at weddings and events. 

Alongside performing on flute, Abbie is Head of Music at a secondary school and performs regularly on the saxophone. Outside of music, she enjoys walking with her retired greyhound, knitting and spending time with family and friends.

Rebecca Bonham 
 

Rebecca started learning the flute in school and has continued to perform as a soloist and in various ensembles including wind bands and orchestras. In more recent years, Rebecca has enjoyed exploring the diverse repertoire of the flute  and is particularly excited to be playing in the quartet.

Outside of performing music, Rebecca works in administration and enjoys baking, reading and meeting up with friends.
